Privacy notice
Last updated 5 October 2026
This notice explains how I handle the information you share with me through this website, especially the enquiry form. I am Muireann Banks, an accredited integrative and somatic psychotherapist working from Talk Therapy Terenure, 8 Rathfarnham Road, Terenure, Dublin 6W, D06 V3F4. Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) I am the “data controller” for this information, which means I am responsible for it.
If you have any question about your information, or want to use any of the rights described below, email me at [email protected].
What the enquiry form collects
- Your name, email address and message. I need these to reply to you.
- If you choose to give it, your phone number, so that I can call you.
- If you choose to give them: the type of therapy you prefer, the day that suits you, and how you heard about my practice.
- Your message may include information about your health, such as what is bringing you to therapy. The law treats this as especially sensitive. You only ever need to share what you are comfortable with, and the form asks you to tick a box confirming you are happy for me to use what you share.
Why I use it, and the legal basis
- To reply to your enquiry and, if you wish, to arrange an initial session. The legal basis is that you have asked me to take these steps before we agree to work together (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
- Anything you tell me about your health, I use only with your explicit consent (GDPR Article 9(2)(a)). You can withdraw that consent at any time by emailing me, and I will delete your enquiry. Withdrawing it does not affect anything I did with it before.
- I do not use your information for marketing, I do not add you to a mailing list, and I never sell or share it for anyone else’s purposes.
Who else handles it
Your enquiry reaches me through a small number of services:
- Cloudflare hosts this website. It also checks that each enquiry comes from a person rather than automated software, using a tool called Turnstile, which looks at technical details of your browser and does not track you across other websites.
- Resend delivers your enquiry to my email inbox.
- Google stores the email in my Gmail account.
Cloudflare and Resend act only on my instructions, under data processing agreements. Cloudflare, Resend and Google are based in the United States. All three are certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission recognises as giving personal data adequate protection, and Cloudflare’s and Resend’s agreements also include the Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long I keep it
- If your enquiry does not lead to us working together, I delete it six months after my last reply to you.
- If we do begin working together, your enquiry becomes part of your client notes. I store client notes securely for seven years after our therapy ends, as set out in the contract we agree before we begin.
Visiting this website
This website has no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. When you visit, Cloudflare processes your IP address and basic details about your browser so that it can deliver the pages and protect the site from attacks. This is necessary to run a website securely, which is my legitimate interest (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). The fonts are served from this website itself, so Google does not see your visit.
Keeping it safe
Enquiries travel over encrypted connections, and my email account is protected with two-step verification. I do not make any automated decisions about you.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information I hold about you;
- ask me to correct it, or to delete it;
- ask me to limit how I use it, or object to my using it;
- receive it in a format you can take elsewhere;
- withdraw your consent at any time, wherever I rely on it.
To use any of these rights, email me. I will reply within one month.
You also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Commission, Ireland’s data protection regulator, at dataprotection.ie or 21 Fitzwilliam Square South, Dublin 2, D02 RD28. I would welcome the chance to put things right first, so please do contact me if you have a concern.
Changes to this notice
If I change how I handle your information, I will update this page and the date at the top.
